How to apply
Each winter term (starting in September), 14 students are beginning their studies in TV Journalism at Hochschule Hannover. Written applications should be send to
Expo Plaza 12
by April, 30th, 2020 (appropriate post mark required).
. Applicants with university certificates from foreign countries are required to hand in corresponding documents via Uni-Assist earlier (up to mid-March). The selection procedure at Hochschule Hannover includes an aptitude test as well as an individual interview which, for the winter term 19/20, will be held on May 22nd, 2019. Unfortunately, we cannot offer an alternative date. The following application process will be taking place for the winter term 19/20.
In order to apply for our TV Journalism (M. A.) study program, students need to have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent (e. g., German equivalents are: Diplom, Magister) from the field of journalism, communication studies, etc.. In addition, TV related seminars from undergraduate studies should add up to at least 9 credit points (ECTS). If there is no bachelor’s certificate available at the time of application, applicants need to include a transcript of academic records and hand in their final degree until the beginning of their studies in September at the latest.
Further requirements are four months of practical training in TV/video journalism (e. g. internships, freelance work, etc.), as well as a CV, and a letter of motivation (max. two pages). German and English language certificates are mandatory, too. We also ask students to include three samples of their journalistic work (video). International work experience is desirable but not necessarily expected.
From all the applications received until April 30, the department’s selection committee will choose and invite a group of students to take part in the aptitude test and the interviews in June.
